Can this tool crack an unknown password?
No. This tool removes password protection only when you already know the correct password. It is not a password-cracking or recovery tool, and it cannot bypass encryption.
When is this useful?
Common legitimate uses include removing a password from your own documents, unlocking files a colleague has shared with you along with the password, or removing protection from archived files so they can be merged or processed with our other tools.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Decryption happens entirely inside your browser. Your PDF and its password never leave your device.
Why does the unlock fail?
The most common reason is a wrong password. Some files also use older or non-standard encryption that cannot be processed in the browser — in that case you will see a clear error message.
